On Saturday, October 13, the Maryland Racing Media Association will hold its annual Crab Feast — Maryland racing’s party of the year!
The event — which will be held in the Carriage Room at Laurel at 6:30, following live racing — is a celebration of the game’s achievers. Highlights will include the group’s annual awards to people made news, won big races, and contributed to the industry in myriad ways large and small over the last year and over their racing lifetimes. In addition, we’ll award nearly $30,000 in scholarships to help people working on the backstretch and at Maryland farms to further their educations.
There will also be a silent auction, with proceeds to benefit the scholarship fund. Tickets to the event are $60 each, $550 for a table of 10, and include all you can eat crabs, barbecue, and more, as well as beer, wine, and soda. Tickets will be available at the door.
Great food — and not just crabs — great fun, and a great cause! Come on out and join us (flyer here).

I admire the people behind this event. More power to you guys. Surely there are millions in need today.
