Joy Train broke alertly and quickly secured the lead, while pressed by 7-5 second choice All Mixed Up.

After putting away All Mixed Up, Joy Train had to contend with closing runs from Disco Dora and Miss Shoppin Diva. She dispatched both of them, finishing willingly to draw off to the decisive score.

A big crowd of Trainiacs was on hand to enjoy the win. Joy Train’s record now stands at a win and two seconds from five starts.

Four year-old filly Homefire and two year-old filly Joy Train have both filled out the exacta in recent starts.

On October 23 at Laurel, Homefire broke alertly and chased a loose-on-the-lead runner around the track. Confronted by pursuers at the head of the lane, Homefire fought back gamely, and while she couldn’t get to the winner, she held off the cavalry to earn the second-place finish.

Meanwhile, Joy Train, a daughter of Silver Train out of Greta’s Joy by Joyeux Danseur, made much of her Delaware certification by posting back-to-back second place finishes at Delaware Park. In the first, on October 25, she stalked the leader, surged clear at the head of the lane, and was run down in the last jump. Then, a week later, she chased the leader on a speed-favoring track and ended up a clear second; running time for the six furlongs on the main track was 1:13.

Meanwhile, Attempting Reentry (Not for Love-Set to Fly, by Relaunch) is nearing her second start.

(Photo of Homefire by Laurie Asseo)

Post time for the six-furlong test is 3:03 pm.

The daughter of Not for Love-Set to Fly, by Relaunch, enters off a steady string of works, most recently a four-furlong breeze at Laurel on Tuesday. She navigated the half mile in 48 3/5 seconds, good for fifth best of 15 on the day. Irwin Rosendo has the mount.

Other That’s Amore horses expected to race soon include two year-old Joy Train, working at Delaware towards her debut, and four year-old Homefire, looking for a grass spot at Laurel.

Sent off at odds of 4-5, she led by a half-dozen at the eighth pole before jockey Horacio Karamanos geared her down late to earn the victory; running time for the 5 1/2 furlongs on the firm grass was 1:05 1/5.

Homefire now boasts a record of one win, two seconds, and a third from seven starts and has won or placed in four of five races.
